How to Apply
“I just wanted to reach out and thank you for giving my children these incredible opportunities and memories! Thank you so much!!!!!”
It is easy to apply for a campership through Washtenaw Camp Placement. Every applicant must submit a Parent Application Form and a Professional Referral Form. The Parent Application Form must be filled out by an adult who knows the applicant well. The Professional Referral must be filled out by someone who works with the child, for example a teacher, counselor, mentor, etc., who has an understanding of their strengths, challenges, and potential to be successful in a sleepaway summer camp setting.
To qualify for a campership at Washtenaw Camp Placement, a child must:
- Be between the ages of 9 and 16 at the time that camp is in session
- Live or go to school in Washtenaw County
- Be unable to attend summer camp without Washtenaw Camp Placement’s support
- Be able to be successful with the typical supports available at a YMCA sleepaway summer camp.
- Have submitted both a Parent Application Form and Professional Referral Form (see below for links to the forms)
