A week of summer camp is more than just a week—it has the potential to cause a lifetime of change for our campers. Camp fosters significant strides in independence, social-emotional skills, and self-perception, leaving a lasting impact well beyond the camp experience. MAKE A DONATION!
Washtenaw Camp Placement relies on the generosity of people like you to keep making a difference in children’s lives!
All of our funding is from the support of individuals, businesses, organizations, foundations, and our valued partner camps. We do not receive any government funding and the number of children we can send to camp each year depends entirely on the amount of donations we have received.
We need your assistance to send more kids to camp!
If you prefer, donations can also be mailed to our office address at 3135 South State Street, Suite 350-D, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. Please include your name so that we can properly thank you.
- Does your company match donations? If so, check out your matching gift program guidelines. We are happy to provide any information they need.
- Do you want your donation to go to a specific camp for tuition? Let us know! We receive a 40-50% discount with all of our camp partners, but it still costs us $500 on average to send a child to sleepaway summer camp. We send about 150 kids to camp every season. If you would like your donation to go to a specific camp for tuition it would help us offset those costs.
- Do you want to donate directly to our endowment? We have been around for sixty-two years and your contribution would help to keep us around for another sixty-two! We would love your support!
- Have you made estate plans? We would love to be included!
IN-KIND DONATIONS
As part of our campership program we provide our campers with the supplies that they need to attend sleepaway summer camp.
We rely on in-kind donations for these supplies. All items can be new or gently used. They can be mailed directly to us from our Amazon wish list or they can be purchased elsewhere/found within your home and mailed or dropped off directly to our office at 3135 South State Street, Suite 350-D, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. Please include your name so that we can properly thank you.
- Our Campers Need:
- Sleeping bags
- Duffel bags
- Bath towels and washcloths
- Beach towels
- Single bed linens
- New socks
- Water bottles
- Flashlights
- Bug repellent (Non-aerosol)
- Sunscreen (Non-aerosol)
- Rain ponchos
- Cloth laundry bags
